| Beginning the process of restoring a (what I believe to be) all 100% original 1990 pearlglow yellow TT that I bought last week. (Yellow one one the left… my 5spd tt is on the right in pic) Picked up a new to me TT. Car has 130k and was in california from 1990-2012. After that it literally sat in a driveway in michigan (south haven) from 2012-2025. During this time the car was driven 300 miles. And the oil change sticker said 2005 (lol). It is kind of a rare bird being factory paint and an automatic. If the gtr registry was up id look to see how rare. I think its one of maybe 26 auto TT in this color. Before I drove the car back (3hr drive) I was sure to change the oil in the guys driveway. He told me - you’re f****** crazy man. I said yep rolled up the window and drove off. Made it home fine. Didnt stop besides for gas. These cars are a testimony to how rock solid they were in the 1990s!!!!! The tires are from 2003 and one has a shifted belt. The car drove flawlessly besides that and some steering issues which i will discover im sure shortly. Its like driving a pirate ship. That being said the timing belt is easily 25yrs plus old so a 120k is in order. Its kinda funny because i said to myself … really another yellow one ??? Of course … I wanted Lp2 or aztek red honestly. Couldn't be picky obviously and its still cool of course hah
